Dusk in Rome: After visiting the Capitoline Hill one late afternoon we wandered back towards the bus stop and the sky was filled with starlings coming to roost in the trees around the “Typewriter” surmounted by the Quadriga dell Unita ( a winged charioteer goddess ‘Victoria’). I could not put in all the starlings as the sky would then have been too dark.
For the title I wanted a poetic Italian translation of ‘Murmeration’ but could only find a word for ‘flock’ & that wasn’t interesting enough.
