Armoured Kylix,
Stoneware, aluminium, wood, & gold leaf

The title was provoked by some similarities to the classical form of Greek Kylix. In this piece the outer end panels relate to the high handles of the authentic form. It is made from red clay used in thin sheets, joined like welded metal, patinated with ceramic colour & fired to stoneware temperature.
A corner of the thin base was broken at some time and has been repaired with resin and gold leaf.
Although there are several components there are few possible variations.
